Description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>Alluvial Fan Flooding, defined as flooding that occurs on the surface of an alluvial fan or similar landform, originates at the apex, and is characterized by high-velocity flows; active processes of erosion, sediment transport, and deposition; and unpredictable flow paths. Alluvial fan flood zones may also be susceptible to erosion, deposition and channel avulsions. Letters of Map Amendment (LOMAs) and Letters of Map Revision (LOMRs) are more difficult to obtain from FEMA within alluvial fan flood zones.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN /></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
